Biography

Andrew Devine is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Tulane University. His research interests center on the interplay between international relations and authoritarian politics, particularly with respect to Chinese politics. His dissertation project examines variation in Chinese foreign propaganda strategies between democratic and autocratic states. Andrew earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Central Florida and an M.A. in contemporary East Asian studies (with distinction) from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. He is also one of the National Bureau of Asian Research's 2023-2024 CLFP fellows.
