Elizabeth Kalos-Kaplan

Elizabeth Kalos-Kaplan is a Professor of Practice teaching first-year writing and currently serves as the Director of the First-Year Writing Program. She specializes in rhetoric and composition, and in 20^th century American literature. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in English at Tulane University. Her prior experience includes teaching English as a Foreign Language in the Frânche-Comté region of France and teaching reading and study skills classes around the southern United States. Dr. Kalos-Kaplan has also worked as a grant writer and an administrative director for two New Orleans-based nonprofits: a volunteer service corps and a legal advocacy group.
