Dr. Urbanek is a Visiting Assistant Professor. Their research interests include Disability Studies, Gender Studies, Queer Literature, Southern Literature, Poetry, and Global Literature. They are actively looking for a publisher for The Chameleon Who Wanted to Be a Color That Does Not Exist and their earlier work Ballad of the Riot Dog. They have recently been published in Across the Margins, Ar Li Jo, The Awakenings Review, and The Beat Evolution Anthology. Dr. Urbanek enjoys lapidary work, rock hounding, and helping students realize their potential as writers and independent thinkers.
