I am a PhD Candidate in the department of Political Science at Tulane University. I am originally from Quito, Ecuador where I obtained my B.A. in International Relations from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ). My broad research interests are in the field of Latin American Politics with a focus on the political economy of natural resources, conflict, and environmental politics. My research uses novel quantitative methods and data focusing on geographic (GIS), causal inference and text analysis.
My dissertation explores the consequences of corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices in the mining sector for state development, citizen attitudes and political violence with a geographical focus on the Andean countries. I intend to defend my dissertation in the Spring of 2022.
