Mart is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science. His research and teaching interests are within Comparative Politics and International Political Economy sub-fields with a focus on Latin America. In his dissertation project, Mart explores the relationship between traditional village governance arrangements, protest and provision of basic services in the sub-municipal level in rural Mexico.
Mart's research has been published or is forthcoming in Latin American Politics and Society, Current History and Pensamiento Iberoamericano.
Mart holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from University of Tartu, Estonia, and a M.A. degree in Latin American Studies from University of Salamanca, Spain.
