Mart is a fifth-year PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science. His research and teaching interests are within Comparative Politics and International Political Economy sub-fields with a focus on Latin America. In his dissertation project, Mart explores the relationship between traditional village governance arrangements, electoral politics and provision of public investments to the poorest communities in rural Mexico.
Mart holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from University of Tartu, Estonia, and a M.A. degree in Latin American Studies from University of Salamanca, Spain.
