Tulane University Orchestra Fall Concert

Tulane University Orchestra presents its first full public concert since the beginning of the pandemic. Felix Mendelssohn's majestic Symphony #5 Reformation is the centerpiece of the program; also on the program are excerpts from an opera-in-progress by the orchestra director Maxim Samarov with a guest soloist Claire Shackleton, mezzo soprano, and the Prelude to Act III from Lohengrin by Richard Wagner. 

Concert Piano Series - Lu Piano Duo

The internationally acclaimed LU Piano Duo has delighted audiences both locally and throughout the world with their superior technique and eclectic mixture of musical styles.  Jie Deng Lu and Ning Lu, both natives of China and graduates of the best conservatories in their native country, are currently faculty artist-teachers at the University of Utah’s School of Music.

The Newcomb Department of Music furthers its mission of introducing students to New Orleans culture with Thursday Night Jazz (formerly Jazz at the Rat), a series of concerts held in the Dixon Annex Recital Hall (Rm.152). Hosted and curated by jazz pianist and Newcomb Department of Music professor Jesse McBride, each live performance features accomplished New Orleans musicians, jazz legends, and visiting artists, accompanied by students and faculty from Tulane's Jazz Studies program. All concerts are free and open to the public.
