Conferences

The New Orleans Center for the Gulf South (NOCGS) sponsors conferences and symposia held in New Orleans or concerned with scholarship of the region.

Over the course of each academic year, Tulane faculty can request conference funding. Funds are limited, and faculty are encouraged to submit proposals at the earliest possible funding deadline. Awardees are required to submit a web-ready summary of the project including pictures and a short personal bio.

To apply, submit a proposal that includes the name, dates, and location of the conference or symposium, event description, complete budget, specific distribution of the NOCGS funds, and other sources of financial support. If funds are requested for keynote speaker fee(s), please provide name and c.v. of individual(s). Proposals must be submitted as one compiled pdf, and they may be submitted at any time until the deadline.

Proposals cannot be submitted to both the New Orleans Center for the Gulf South and the Center for Scholars. Please send proposals to Rebecca Snedeker at snedeker@tulane.edu.
