History Department End of Year Celebration and Awards Ceremony

The Department of History celebrated the 2019 academic year with a picnic and awards ceremony on May 2, 2019. Professor Brian DeMare, the Director of Undergraduate Studies, presented awards to undergraduate students. Professor Guadalupe García, the Director of Graduate Studies, presented awards to graduate students.

Kathryn Cook received the Charles Till Davis Award for Excellence in European History.

Sophia Horowitz received the Chi Omega Prize in History for Overall Excellence.

Emily Milner received the Prize for Excellence in Latin American, Middle Eastern, African, or Asian History.

Carlo Vescovi received the Montgomery History Award for Overall Excellence.

Jason Straight received the Peter T. Cominos Memorial Award for best research paper of publishable quality.

 

Award recipients not present include:

Drew Pearson received the Aline McKensie Taylor Award in Intellectual History for Best Essay.

Rebecca Sprague received the Sydney Beyer Prize for Excellence in U.S. History.

Diego Rodríguez de Sepúlveda received the William R. Hogan Fellowship Award for Excellence in Teaching.
