Biography
Andrés Vargas Valdés is a Tulane PhD student since 2017. Originally a historian from the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia, his research interest is focused in the Spanish Inquisition in Latin America. He is author of the book Errores, Reniegos e Irreverencia, Los delitos de palabra y su significado en el tribunal de Cartagena de Indias (1610-1660). His current research focuses in the denunciation practices in the Inquisition in Cartagena´s and Mexican tribunals during the seventeenth century.
