Biography

A two-time graduate of Tulane University, Allyson Joy Heumann is honored to serve on the faculty as a Professor of Practice in the Strategy, Leadership, and Analytics Minor. Before her appointment at Tulane University, Allyson was an Instructor of Finance at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Allyson began her career as an Equity Options and Index Equity Options Market Maker at Susquehanna Investment Group. In 2006, Allyson founded a consultancy marrying her areas of expertise, technology and structured products. Allyson Heumann & Associates began as an Enterprise Risk Management and Capital Markets consultancy and has grown to serve various client needs in Finance, Manufacturing and Healthcare.Her work includes a wide breadth of activities, from building extensive data analytic programs for thwarting money laundering to assisting small FinTech startups with monetization and the challenges of rapid growth. Allyson works extensively with leadership at both the BOD and C-Suite levels.Her firm's solutions aim to be ethical, scalable, sustainable, and compliant. AH&A mainly works in highly regulated markets.

Allyson has a BA in Economics, an MBA in Finance from Tulane University, and a MAcc from the University of Scranton. Allyson holds certifications in Inclusive and Ethical Leadership and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of Southern Florida. She read in Political Economy/Game Theory at the University of Cambridge. From 2008 to 2015, Allyson funded afinancial literacy website, the Heumann Market Review, which sought to demystify the capital markets for retail investors. From 2012 to 2019, Allyson served on the Steering Committee for the Professional Risk Management International Association.She previously held memberships at the Chicago Board Options Exchange, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and the New York Mercantile Exchange.
