Graduate Translation Exam

(For graduate students who must fulfill a language translation requirement in Spanish, Portuguese, or Catalan.)

Exams are administered twice per year, in mid–October and mid–March.

The following dates are for Academic Year Language Translation Exam:

Fall 2019 – October 18, 2019
Spring 2020 – March 13, 2020

You may choose from the following possible times – please email Claudia de Brito to confirm your choice.

From: 9:00am – 12:00am
From: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

The exam consists of two parts:

  • Comprehension of an academic article in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Translation into English of select passages of academic prose

Students may consult a print Spanish/English or Portuguese/English dictionary. However, use of internet for any part of the exam is prohibited.
