Our faculty members are recognized nationally and internationally as leading scholars in a diverse range of theoretical, geographic, genre, and period specializations. They maintain active research agendas, while also offering high quality, personalized teaching at all levels of instruction, from basic language classes in Spanish and Portuguese to advanced undergraduate and graduate seminars.

Our graduate students enter our PhD program from Latin America, Spain, and the US with a wide variety of interests in literary and cultural studies.
