Biography
Robie Flores is a Texican filmmaker that was fed up with watching narco movies about her border homelands so she convinced her younger brother to quit his corporate job to make a movie about the border that would be more fun and realistic. They made their dream come true, made a movie together called The In Between, and had it premiere at SXSW in 2024. She loves her family and friends and makes movies and film projects partly as excuses to hang out with them. She has been supported by Ford Foundation, Tribeca Film Institute, Austin Film Society, The Gotham Film and Media Institute among others. Her work has appeared on CNN, Bloomberg, BET, PBS and has been featured by Texas Monthly, Teen Vogue, Fusion, Allure and Vice to name a few. She is drawn to telling stories that explore the nuances of her fronterizo, Chicano and Mexican-American communities.
