Research

The NOLA Sample Project is what happens at the intersection of music production and computer programming.  I will be partnering with the Ellis Marsalis Center and Preservation Hall to create instrument sample libraries in the Kontakt sampler by Native Instruments.  I will also create audio maps of the Hall throughout the year to have the most accurate representation of the room.  COVID-19 has changed some of the original plans, especially scheduling musicians, but in summer 2020 the kids at the center started learning computer coding.  This will help when it is time to start programming in Kontakt.  We will sample the main instruments that are usually played at the hall and have an interesting lineup of musicians to come in and record.
