Biography
Nancy Gunn is a professor and Emmy Award–winning producer with more than 25 years of experience across television, documentary, theatre, music, and the performing arts. During her decade at Tulane University, she has created and taught courses for SLAM and the Department of Theatre & Dance, including Producing, Introduction to the Creative Industries, Theatre in Contemporary Society, and Performing Arts Management.
Nancy has worked as a producer at every level of television production, including as an Executive Producer and Showrunner. Over the course of her career she has produced more than 400 episodes of television, with credits spanning longform documentaries and documentary series such as Heroes of Iwo Jima and Intimate Portrait: Harriet Tubman, major competition and reality series including The Amazing Race and Hell’s Kitchen, and live television.
Her experience in the performing arts includes artistic leadership and management roles with organizations including the Metropolitan Opera, The Moth, and the New Orleans Shakespeare Festival. She holds a BA from the College of William & Mary and an MA and MFA from Tulane University.
