Biography

I am from Chile, and I got my psychology degree in Brazil. My academic interests include Lacanian psychoanalysis, mainly around the late formulations of Jacques Lacan (1970-1980) and Brazilian and Hispanic Amazonian narratives. For my Ph.D. research project, I intend to elaborate on a possible connection between these two fields through the Amerindian perspectivism proposed by Brazilian anthropologist Eduardo Viveiros de Castro. I believe there is a relevant link between subjective indeterminacy experiences that animist perspectivism proposes and what Lacan formulates with his concept of the Real and topological subject. I will explore this with a particular emphasis on the literary representations and other cultural productions surrounding the Amazon.
