  1. How do I get information on the Spanish and Portuguese programs at Tulane?

  2. How do I know if my language placement is at the right level?

    For Spanish, please contact our Acting Director of the Spanish Language Program Prof. Angela Ramirez at SpanishSLP@tulane.edu
    For Portuguese, please contact our Director of the Basic Language Program in Portuguese Prof. Megwen Loveless at mloveles@tulane.edu

  3. How do I declare my minor or major? 
    1. Download the minor or major declaration form
    2. Fill out the form
    3. Schedule a meeting with your advisor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese
  4. Who is my advisor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese?
    Advisors are assigned by students’ last names. Please consult the sheet linked above (Question 3) or you can contact the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Dale Shuger, at dshuger@tulane.edu. 
     
  5. Where do I get information about Study Abroad?
    Please visit the Study Abroad office and schedule a meeting with their staff: http://global.tulane.edu
     
  6. How do I transfer credits if I study abroad?

    Please see Study Abroad guidelines.

  7. Can I count an internship toward my Spanish major or minor?
    With approval of a department faculty member, students may enroll in SPAN 4560: Internship for 1-3 credits, but internship credits do not count toward the Spanish major or minor.

Make sure that you schedule a meeting with your advisor in our Department before you go abroad.

Classes that are not pre-approved ARE NOT GUARANTEED to count toward the Spanish minor or major.
