Biography

Michelle Foa is an Associate Professor of Art History in the Newcomb Art Department, specializing in later 19th-century French art and visual and material culture.  Her EVST-related research and teaching interests include the history and theory of landscape painting and environmental art, the history of artists' materials, and the materials and substances that have helped shape New Orleans and the region.
