Biography
Dr. Keren Dotan is a literary critic, essayist, and scholar of modern Hebrew literature. She received her Ph.D. in Hebrew and Judaic Studies from New York University, where she wrote her dissertation on Mizrahi Hebrew writers in pre-1930s Palestine. Her book Form Making Form: Mizrahi Writers in Early Twentieth-Century Hebrew Literature was published in Hebrew by Misgav Yerushalayim and Pardes Publishing in 2022. In 2019, she was a fellow at the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. For two decades, she has published literary criticism and essays in leading Israeli newspapers and journals, including Haaretz, Granta (Hebrew), Israel Hayom, Hazman Hazeh, and Telem. Her current research focuses on political emotions in contemporary Israel and modern Hebrew thought.
