Graduate Certificate

Gender and Sexuality Studies offers a Graduate Certificate Program for students currently enrolled in PhD programs within the School of Liberal Arts at Tulane University. Students earning certificates in the interdisciplinary field of Gender and Sexuality Studies must take five 6000 or 7000 level courses (15 credit hours), including GESS 6940, Gender & Sexuality Theory I (Feminist Theory) and GESS 6950, Gender & Sexuality Theory II (Queer Theory). Of the remaining courses, no more than two may come from the student's home department or PhD program. Three credit hours of the total 15 credit hours required for the certificate may double count for both the certificate and the PhD degree.
