Research

“Unshuttered, Uncovered: Northwest Louisiana’s Black Photographic Legacy” will identify the historic studios and photographers, both professional and hobbyist, who documented the history, culture, and traditions of Black Northwest Louisiana. A database of photographers and studios will be created and an oral history project to tell the stories of representative images will be launched. Additionally, a digital and physical exhibit will be developed.
