Biography

Hyun Park is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Tulane University. His research interests and fields are macroeconomics, monetary economics, time series analysis, and monetary aggregation. His recent research focuses on analyzing the characteristics of the newly suggested monetary aggregate, the Credit-card-augmented Divisia monetary aggregate (Credit-Divisia), which includes credit transactions as a monetary service provider. Various VAR estimations and DSGE modeling are adopted to evaluate the performance of the credit-Divisia compared to the simple sum monetary aggregate, published by the Fed. His research shows that the credit Divisia has better performance than the simple sum in tracking true liquidity service flow and in forecasting economic variables. He received his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Kansas in 2022.
