The Tulane Global Humanities Series welcomes opportunities to collaborate with other Tulane units by providing funding to co-sponsor events, speakers, and programming. If you are organizing programming that you think would be of interest to the Tulane Global Humanities Center, please complete the Event/Program Sponsor Request Form.
We are especially interested in programming that connects with our biennial theme of Global Port Cities and research which considers our location in New Orleans and the Gulf South in a global perspective. Programming that takes place during our regular Monday lunchtime series (Mondays from 12-1 pm) will receive special consideration.
All events are the responsibility of the Department/lead sponsor. Note that the Tulane Global Humanities Center is only able to provide financial co-sponsorship and is typically not able to aid with event planning or logistics. TGHC will provide funding as well as promotional support and can work with you on providing resources and information regarding event logistics, such as sharing previous catering menus or helping identify event spaces.
There are two pathways for funding:
Monday 12:00–1:00 pm events
For events held from 12:00–1:00 pm on campus during our Monday lunchtime series, TGHC will cover the cost of catering, or contribute to other relevant event expenses. Additionally, TGHC will cross-promote your event as well as include it in our programming and promotions of events.
Events outside of the lunchtime series
For events held outside of the Monday lunchtime time slot, TGHC is able to award up to $250 towards expenses such as honoraria or receptions, through a departmental reimbursement.
There is no deadline to submit a co-sponsorship request, but requests should be submitted sufficiently in advance to be considered. (Please note that WaveSync and Tulane Catering requests require a minimum 3-week lead time for all events)
