
Biography
Alex is a PhD Candidate specializing in archaeology. He received his BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Colgate University (2015) and MA in Anthropology from Tulane University (2019). He is a member of the Tlalancaleca Archaeological Project (PATP) and previously participated on projects in the Teotihuacan Valley and Tula region in Central Mexico. His research interests include Formative Mesoamerica, urbanism, and household archaeology. His doctoral research evaluates how and why inhabitants aggregated during incipient urbanization at Tlalancaleca through horizontal excavations of Texoloc phase (650-500 BC) residential and community structures as well as analyses of obsidian, ceramics, and figurines.
