Biography

Alex is a PhD Candidate specializing in archaeology. He received his BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Colgate University (2015) and MA in Anthropology from Tulane University (2019). He is a member of the Proyecto Arqueológico Tlalancaleca, Puebla (PATP), and previously participated on projects in the Teotihuacan Valley and Tula region in Central Mexico. His research interests include Formative Mesoamerica, urbanism, complex societies, and household archaeology. His doctoral research evaluates how and why inhabitants aggregated during incipient urbanization at Tlalancaleca through excavations and artifact analysis of Texoloc phase (650-500 BC) residential and ritual structures.
