Biography

Dara Bramson is a PhD candidate in cultural anthropology. She conducted dissertation fieldwork in northern India on Buddhist healing and Tibetan medicine in exile as a Fulbright scholar. This project builds on research on collective memory and post-war healing in Poland, which she conducted as a Fulbright scholar. Dara holds a MA in sociocultural anthropology from Columbia University and BS in journalism and history from Florida International University. Her interdisciplinary methods include experimental ethnography and contemplative practices, influenced by her training as a Mellon Graduate Fellow in Community-Engaged Scholarship, Deep Listening practitioner, and in the visual and performing arts.
