Biography
Jordan Kobylt is an Anthropology PhD student focused on Maya archaeology. His research interests broadly include ancient urbanism, households, settlement patterns, and sociopolitics. His dissertation will focus on processes of urbanism at the Classic Maya site of Calakmul, located in Mexico’s state of Campeche. Jordan has also participated in fieldwork at other Maya sites in Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. Before coming to Tulane, he received his BA in Anthropology from UC Berkeley and worked as an archaeological field technician in California and Oregon.
