Biography
Julia Sjödahl is a PhD student specializing in archaeology of the Andes. She is interested in questions pertaining to local identity, craft production, and long-distance trade in the south-central Peruvian highlands (Ayacucho) during the Late Initial Period and Early Horizon. Recently, she has begun excavations in the Huancasancos region and aims to understand local relationships to the Quispisisa quarry. Prior to her time at Tulane, Julia received her B.A. in Anthropology and Classics from the University of Pittsburgh and worked in cultural resource management throughout the Midwest and Appalachia.
