Funding for Research & Travel

Various centers and institutions at Tulane provide competitive grant funding to help undergraduates do research and travel. This can provide students with unique opportunities to visit regional archives and libraries and to present their work at scholarly conferences.

Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching (CELT)
CELT offers a range of grants for students engaged in undergraduate research with a faculty member, summer internship support, conference travel and event planning with faculty.

Center for Public Service (CPS)
CPS offers undergraduate students research grants for community-based research related to an independent study project or honors thesis.

Honors Program, Summer Research Program and Jean Danielson Memorial Scholarship
Tulane's Honors program offers grants for undergraduates who are conducting research during the summer.

Newcomb College Institute Grants for Women
The Newcomb College Institute offers a variety of grants for undergraduate women to support research, travel, and community development.

Newcomb-Tulane College Grants
Newcomb-Tulane College offers multiple grants for undergraduate research, travel, and conference participation.  They offer grants throughout the academic school year and summer grants.  Applications are due on the 15th of every month.

Office of Study Abroad
Tulane's Office of Study Abroad offers several fellowships and grants to support and/or supplement undergraduate study abroad.

Phyllis M. Taylor Center for Social Innovation and Design Thinking
The Taylor Center offers a range of grants for undergraduate students.

Stone Center for Latin American Studies
The Stone Center offers undergraduates scholarships for travel and study in Latin America and the Caribbean on a Stone Center Program during the summer.  The Stone Center also provides competitive FLAS grants for the intensive study of Portuguese, Haitian Creole, and indigenous Latin American languages.
