Biography
As Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs, I oversee all aspects relating to research, grants, and graduate programs in the School, and lead efforts to evaluate, improve, and administer our many graduate programs. As an R1 university, winning grants and educating graduate students, particularly at the doctoral level, is a core component of what we do at Tulane. To this end, I coordinate SLA research and grant-making efforts by working with faculty and graduate students to apply for funding from federal, private, and foundation sources. I also serve as the Dean’s representative on several committees relating to research, grants, and graduate education, including the SLA Graduate Studies Committee, the SLA Graduate Program Directors Committee, the Graduate Student Honor Board, and the University Research Council.
Please make an appointment with me, or one of our SLA staff, if you want to discuss any of the following:
- Processes and procedures for applying for research funding and fellowships
- Locating funding sources and guidance on proposal preparation
- Coordinating with Sponsored Projects Administration and the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations
- Sponsored Projects Administration routing forms
- Graduate student recruitment and retention
- Graduate student mentoring and professional development
- Developing or expanding graduate programs
