Biography
Khalif Aziz Birden is a PhD. candidate specializing in Cultural Anthropology of the African Diaspora. In 2015 they received their Bachelor's from Albion College. Following their undergraduate studies, they worked at Amistad Research Center in various capacities. Their research focuses on Black religion and spirituality, with a particular focus on African-traditional and derived Religions in the African Diaspora, and modern developments in Black radical politics.
Currently, Khalif Aziz B. is engaged in an ongoing project exploring the various communities of African spirituality in New Orleans, and themes of nationalism within spirituality and social discourses.
