Biography
Leigh Butler joined Tulane in 2017 as the first administrative staff person for Interdisciplinary Programs at the School of Liberal Arts. In her role of senior administrative program coordinator, she supports Interdisciplinary Programs — Mandel Palagye Program for Middle East Peace, Asian Studies, Middle East North African Studies, and Native American & Indigenous Studies — in addition to the Department of Germanic & Slavic Studies. She also provides staff support for the prospective Global Humanities PhD project.
Prior to arriving at Tulane, Leigh worked in the Graduate School of Arts at Columbia University in New York City and at Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles. She also freelanced as a writer for various publications including Time and Tor Books. She has a B.A. in Liberal Arts Honors and a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin.
