Transformations In Entertainment: Local Markets, Global Opportunities

Description: Sanford Panitch (President, Sony Pictures - Motion Pictures Group) will discuss the state of the entertainment business in the new media landscape, and how major motion pictures are produced, marketed, and distributed in this new world. He will talk about local film production, touching on India and China and the kinds of longform content that are breaking through theatrically and discuss the challenges in engaging audiences indoctrinated by Tik Tok.  Dean Brian Edwards and he will talk about the ways film circulates opens up questions of globalization and offers an unexpected window into politics. They will discuss the ways a global liberal arts education prepares the next generation of creative professionals for a constantly changing world order.
