Within the center, and unique to Tulane, the Musical Cultures of the Gulf South coordinate major offers students an interdisciplinary learning experience that brings together music, history, anthropology, English, theatre & dance, French, and communication to provide a comprehensive academic consideration.

    Opportunities for Investment
    • A naming opportunity for the New Orleans Center for the Gulf South. The center pairs Tulane’s strengths as a top-tier educational institution with our vibrant and culturally rich location. The New Orleans Center for the Gulf South is poised to become the premier destination for all those who wish to research or learn about the Gulf South region.
    • A great potential exists for expanding Music Rising to incorporate more material and to distribute it on a national level through an endowment gift.
  • Digital Scholarship Center

    $11,100,000

The Digital Scholarship Center, which would be located on the first floor of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, would serve as a laboratory and learning facility to support digital research, creative activities, and teaching. This 14,000-square-foot space would allow for an interactive visualization wall, a sound design studio, a video production studio, technology-enhanced classrooms and open and group study spaces.

    Opportunities for Investment
    • Naming options would be available both for the facility in its entirety and spaces within.
    • Major gifts could provide for renovation of the space and purchase of the equipment.
    • Smaller gifts could support furnishings and technologies.
    • Endowments to facilitate hardware renewal and support would also be available.
  • National Alliance for School Reform Research Center

    $15,000,000

Under the leadership of economics professor, Doug Harris, the National Alliance for School Reform Research Center was established to study the dramatic educational changes in New Orleans after Katrina. It has now expanded its focus and become an international resource for studying educational reform around the world. Supported by major grants and research projects, it has generated significant research and policy recommendations. Funding would provide for staff expansion and attract substantial grants. Additional resources would build on Tulane’s comparative advantages – its location in New Orleans and the existing strengths of ERA-New Orleans –to cement Tulane’s status as the nation’s “university of school reform.”
