This past semester, Tulane Liberal Arts student Jay Harris Gard wrote, directed and edited a 5-minute short film in conjunction with the Video Production I class. Titled, Mission Go, the film is one of several projects that students in the class complete by the end of the semester.
Offered as part of both the Film Studies and Digital Media Production majors, Video Production I instructs students in the basics of video/film production. Students learn the technology of the camera and the microphone as well as the visual vocabulary involved in making a video. Each student works as a different member of the video team for each of the projects. This work includes directing, camera operation, boom operation, and script supervision.
