Summer filled with Drama and Comedy

This summer I was fortunate enough to intern for Sony Pictures Entertainment in their TV casting department in Los Angeles, CA. Over the course of my 14 week internship I have learned so much about the entertainment industry. My bosses Dawn Steinberg, Delia Frankel, and Randi Chugerman oversee the casting for over 30 scripted shows that Sony currently has on air or in development. During my time I have been able to attend tapings as well as table reads for some of the shows like The Goldbergs, Masters of Sex and even some of our newer shows like One Day at a Time, Timeless, and Notorious. I have also sat in on meetings with actors and pitches for potential new dramas or comedies. Being on the Sony lot has been an incredible experience because there is always something exciting going on whether that be running into Chelsea Handler at the Coffee Bean or watching Norman Lear in action on set.

"I have been able to make a ton of great contacts through my internship as well as through the Tulane alumni network."

The most important thing this internship has taught me is that not only that I definitely want to work in the entertainment business, but also that I definitely want to live in Los Angeles after I graduate. I have been able to make a ton of great contacts through my internship as well as through the Tulane alumni network. One of the most valuable things about a Tulane education is the connections it creates with graduates all over the country who are more than willing to help out a fellow green wave.
