Liberal Arts Faculty and Staff Awards Nominations

The SLA faculty awards are open to all regular faculty members (not visitors or adjuncts). The staff award is open to all full-time SLA staff.

There is a call for nominations once per year. The nomination deadline for 2024 awards is Friday, April 12. View previous winners here.

Created in 2010, the annual School of Liberal Arts faculty and staff awards recognize the talent and dedication of those who work diligently to promote the school's vision. The awards are:

  1. Outstanding Faculty Research or Creative Activities Award
  2. The April Brayfield Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award
  3. Outstanding Faculty Service Award
  4. Staff Award for Innovation - Honors SLA staff who utilizes innovative techniques to improve quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. The innovation is original and creative and easy to replicate to other programs.
  5. Outstanding Staff Award
  6. Community and Belonging Award - Honors SLA staff or faculty who, in the spirit of equity, diversity, and inclusion and anti-racism, prioritizes community and belonging. Meaning, this award recognizes staff or faculty whose work, through a combination of teaching, service, community engagement, and/or scholarship, interchangeably creates or facilitates opportunities that ensures a culture of security and support of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQ+ people, those with disabilities, religious minorities, veterans, and other underrepresented and underserved people between both Tulane and/or New Orleans communities.
