Biography

Nancy Gunn was born in Williamsburg, Virginia.  She has served in management and as a performer for many organizations, including the Virginia Shakespeare Festival, the Riverside Shakespeare Company, the Wayside Theatre, the National Theatre for the Performing Arts (touring), the New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane, and the Metropolitan Opera.    

For television, Nancy has produced dozens of documentaries including the award-winning feature Heroes of Iwo Jima (A&E).  She has also produced unscripted competition reality series such as Hell’s Kitchen (FOX), Big Brother (CBS), The Celebrity Apprentice (NBC), The Amazing Race (CBS) and Stephen Spielberg’s On The Lot (FOX). 

Nancy was the first director of the Peabody-award winning nonprofit group The Moth.  She is a member of the International Documentary Association and served as judge for the IDA’s feature awards.  Nominated for awards by the IDA and the Producer’s Guild, she traveled around the globe multiple times and received an Emmy Award as Senior Producer of The Amazing Race
