The Department of Theatre and Dance is excited to be presenting this engaging show just before its Broadway debut later this year. Full of honesty, wit, grace and comedy, Trouble in Mind is a very special piece by Alice Childress that explores the way we see others. A play within a play, Childress skillfully delves into the social, political and ethical issues around race tensions in 1950s America. Dramatic and intense, this play will challenge your preconceived ideas. Performing it now, we challenge what progress has been made from the 1950s as the issues then are eerily familiar to the ones today.
The Department of Theatre and Dance is happy to present this performance as part of its commitment to the Jubilee.
