Biography
Aigerim Magavina was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and studied Piano Performance, Collaborative Piano, and Pedagogy at Baiseitova Music College and continued her studies at Kazakh National Conservatory.
Ms. Magavina moved to the United States in 2002 and graduated from the University of New Orleans with an Master of Music in Performing Arts in 2004. She has been recognized in competitions in Germany, Poland, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the United States.
Ms. Magavina has been Staff Pianist for the Newcomb Department of Music since 2004. During that time, she performed with the Tulane-Newcomb Choir, Musical Theatre Workshop, Tulane Opera, Tulane Orchestra, and the Music at Midday series. She is also a pianist for student and faculty recitals.
Ms. Magavina is an active recitalist, collaborative pianist, vocal coach and piano teacher in the New Orleans community.
