Political Science and Sociology Major
This summer, I had the opportunity to represent Louisiana on an international stage at the 11th Parlement Francophone des Jeunes (PFJ) in Yaoundé, Cameroon. For me, participating in this experience was one of the most perspective-defining moments of my academic career.

My study abroad experience pushed me outside of my comfort zone and reminded me that some of the best learning happens by embracing new places and experiences, as well as new people.

What might sharpen their critical thinking skills in a world that demands discernment more than ever? These are the questions I reflected on when I began planning to lead the summer course “Beyond Paradise: Leadership and Sustainability in The Bahamas,” a partnership with the School of Liberal Arts’ Strategy, Leadership and Analytics Minor (SLAM) and the Office of Study Abroad.
