
Biography
Adachi Pimentel (she/her) is a cross-disciplinary Scenic and Lighting designer. After completing her Bachelor’s in Documentary Video Production, from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, she continued her pursuits in visual storytelling. Her curiosity for performance design and collaboration led her to receiving an MFA in Technical Theater Design from the University of New Orleans.
Throughout her career, Adachi has continued to demonstrate her versatility, working on productions from film to the dramatic stage, and live music performance.
She served two seasons as the Master Electrician for Le Petite Theater (New Orleans), Production Manager for the world-renowned Preservation Hall, as well as operational and technical roles for various production houses in the New Orleans Metro area.
Her most recent design work includes Everybody (Loyola University), Outraged Hearts (Big Couch, New Orleans and Torn Page, NYC), Sweet Bird of Youth (Marigny Opera House), and We Will Dream Theater Festival (New Orleans).
Adachi has garnered creative recognition, including the SETC 2022 Kennedy Center for Excellence in Scenic Design, and as an ACG Grantee from the Lee-Way Foundation. Her work has been featured both nationally and internationally including the London Design Festival, Philadelphia Folklore Project, and Apartamento Magazine.
Adachi hails from New York City and calls New Orleans home, where she continues to contribute to the vibrant cultural landscape of the city.
