Biography
Darren Hayes is a New Orleans native with a background in event planning, administration, communications, marketing, and, of course, theatre. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Liberal Arts from Tulane, and he has also been fortunate enough to study theatre in New York and London. He comes to the Theatre and Dance Department from the University Communications and Marketing department, where he contributed to major projects and initiatives, including the New Orleans Book Festival, Convocation, State of the University, the President’s Academic Year in Review, and, most notably, Commencement. He received the Spirit of Tulane Award in 2023, as well as the Team Spirit of Tulane Award alongside the Commencement planning team in 2021. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, exploring, and being a member of the local theatre community.
