
Biography
Originally from Saint Francisville, Louisiana, James Lanius III is a Production Manager and creative technologist with a robust background in theatrical design and production.
After completing the Master of Fine Arts program at Yale School of Drama, James returned to New Orleans to work as a Production Manager for Solomon Group. This included: FIRST Robotics World Championships; Essence Festival of Culture; Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve; and the NFL Commissioner’s Superbowl Party, 2025. He also PMed for Le Petit Theatre from 2016 - 2022, managing many productions including A Christmas Carol, A Streetcar Named Desire, and A Night with Janis Joplin.
James is also an accomplished freelance video designer and engineer, collaborating on projects across New Orleans and nationally. Recent video credits include Avalona (Off-Broadway), Kudzu Calling (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), and Tiny Beautiful Things (Crescent City Stage).
James combines a deep knowledge of storytelling with fluency in the latest visual and media systems to support compelling, impactful experiences. His work reflects a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and the enduring power of live performance.
