VASSILIS LAMBROPOULOS is the author of Literature as a National Institution and The Rise of Eurocentrism and co-editor of The Text and Its Margins. His scholarly interests include modern Greek culture, the ancients and the moderns, ethics and politics, literature after cultural studies, and theories of tragedy. He is the C.P. Cavafy Professor of Modern Greek Studies and Professor of Classical Studies and Comparative Literature at the University of Michigan.
