Samantha Morris (Class of 2018)

Entering her tenth year of studying Latin, graduating senior Samantha Morris is excited to further her passion for Classics with the Paideia Institute’s Rome Fellowship. As a Rome Fellow, Samantha will spend ten months in Rome from September 2018 to July 2019. During this time, she will deepen her knowledge of Rome, learn the Italian language, and gain teaching experience. In the Fall, Samantha will take seminars on the history of Rome, spoken Latin, and Italian while traveling throughout Rome, Naples, and Florence. In the Spring, she and the other three fellows will work as Teaching Assistants in the Paideia Institute’s Classical Tours with university and high school groups. The culmination of her fellowship experience will be working as an Assistant for the Paideia Institute’s Living Latin in Rome High School Program. Samantha is also particularly excited to participate in the Institute’s Living Latin in Paris and Living Greek in Greece programs while she’s abroad. Having attended the Paideia Institute’s 2017 Living Latin in Rome program, Samantha is eager to return to Rome and continue her growth as a classical scholar.
