Applying to the Program

Applications to the graduate program in History are due on January 10 and submitted via the Department's online portal (see link below) along with a 20-30 page writing sample. For Fall admission (and financial aid consideration), the application deadline is January 10. The online application process opens August 15. The department does not have an admissions cycle for the students wishing to begin in Spring.

Applications may continue to be revised and updated until they are officially submitted via the online portal. No application fee is charged until you are ready to submit your final application.

Application for Accelerated Master of Arts Program (4+1)

Open to Newcomb-Tulane students only. Applications are submitted via the online portal and are due by April 1. Students may apply in the spring semester of their senoir year at Tulane and have two years from their graduation date to submit an application. Please note that deferred admission is not possible.
