Applying to the Program

Applications to the graduate program in History are submitted online (see link below), however, applicants must also send a 20-30 page writing sample to Donna Denneen, Department of History, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA 70118. For Fall admission (and financial aid consideration), the application deadline is January 10. The department does not do Spring admission.

In addition to your online application, you must send a 20-30 page writing sample to Donna Denneen, Department of History, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA 70118. Until you submit your online application you can continue to revise and update it. No application fee is charged until you are ready to submit your final application. Please note that the Department of History's application deadline is January 10.

Application for Accelerated Master of Arts Program (4+1)

Open to Newcomb-Tulane students only. Applications are made online and are due by April 1. Students may apply in the spring semester of their final year or up to two years later. Applications may only be made for the following academic year; deferred admission is not possible.
