Airport
A shuttle service is available to most of the hotels listed below. Visit the Airport Shuttle New Orleans website for more information on the Airport shuttle and to purchase advanced shuttle passes. A taxi from the airport to the Central Business District and most other areas of the city costs $40 for 1 or 2 passengers.
Lyft and Uber are also available from the airport!
Getting Around New Orleans
The Symposium events will be held on Tulane's campus and at the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA). Transportation options include personal vehicles, taxis, buses, and streetcars.
Driving to NOMA - For directions, visit the New Orleans Museum of Art website.
Public Transportation - NOMA and Tulane are accessible via streetcar and bus. Visit the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority website for schedules, routes, maps, and fares.
Taxis and Rideshare - Most hotels can arrange taxi service. Taxis can be difficult to hail outside of popular tourist areas, so we recommend booking in advance. Download a list of New Orleans taxi services or use rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft.
TMS Event Locations
To learn more about the location of the events, you can view an interactive map of Tulane’s uptown campus (or download a jpg version). On the interactive map, the Lake Theater is behind the Lake Residence Hall, building #48, and Dinwiddie Hall is building #3.
If you arrive by taxi, you may wish to instruct the driver to drop you off at McAlister and Willow on Saturday and Cowen Circle on St Charles Ave. for workshops on Thursday and Friday.
On-Campus Parking on Thursday and Friday (Workshop Days)
If you're attending workshops on Thursday and Friday, you have two parking options:
- Street parking on St. Charles Avenue (free but limited availability)- It is sometimes possible to find street parking in the neighborhood surrounding the campus. Be aware that much of the street parking has a two-hour limit.
- Daily permit parking at Diboll Garage (second floor and above) - Purchase permits at parking.tulane.edu for $6/day. Please note: Diboll Garage is a 10-15 minute walk to Dinwiddie Hall.
Tulane Parking Services actively monitors campus parking and will ticket vehicles without proper permits during weekday hours.
On-Campus Parking on Saturday
You may park anywhere on campus without a permit, except in permanently reserved spaces.
Accessible Parking
Visitors requiring accessible parking must display both a state-issued handicap permit or license plate AND a Tulane daily parking permit to park in any handicap space on campus.
