Transportation
From the Airport
- Uber and Lyft: Ride app pickup is outside Level 1 Baggage Claim on the middle curb. Visit the MSY ride app information page for current pickup instructions.
- Airport Shuttle: Visit Airport Shuttle New Orleans for schedules and advance reservations.
- Public Transit: RTA Route 202 Airport Express provides service between MSY and downtown New Orleans. Check the New Orleans RTA website for the current schedule before traveling.
Getting Around New Orleans
Driving
- Parking downtown and in the Central Business District can cost up to $40 a day.
- Be aware of potholes and uneven street surfaces when driving.
Streetcar and Bus
Tulane's Uptown campus is located directly on the St. Charles Streetcar line. NOMA and other areas of New Orleans are also accessible by public transportation. Visit the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority website for current routes, schedules, maps, and fares.
The RTA Le Pass app can be used to plan trips, track vehicles in real time, and purchase fares from your phone.
Rideshare
Uber and Lyft are widely available throughout New Orleans. Most hotels can also assist guests with transportation arrangements.
On-Campus Parking
Thursday and Friday
If you're attending workshops and/or the forum on Thursday and Friday, you have two parking options:
- Street parking on St. Charles Avenue: Free but limited availability. It is possible to find street parking in the neighborhood surrounding campus. Be aware that much of the street parking has a two-hour limit.
- Daily permit parking at Diboll Garage: Park on the second floor and above. Purchase permits at Tulane Parking Services for $6/day. Diboll Garage is approximately a 10-15 minute walk to Dinwiddie Hall and a 5-8 minute walk to Lake Theater.
Saturday
You may park anywhere on campus without a permit, except in permanently reserved spaces.
Accessible Parking
Visitors requiring accessible parking must display both a state-issued accessible parking permit or license plate and a Tulane daily parking permit to park in an accessible parking space on campus.
