Archaeological artifacts and ethnographic materials are among the materials that comprise M.A.R.I.’s physical collection. M.A.R.I. curates objects from all over the world with emphasis on collections from Middle America. Stone tools from the United States, Honduran pot sherds, Egyptian coffins, Mexican masks, Guatemalan textiles, Amazonian feather work, and the iconic Tulane pennant exemplify the range of materials in the collection. Objects in the M.A.R.I. collection are used by Tulane professors as classroom examples, are researched by students for term papers, and are available to visiting scholars for study.
The M.A.R.I. Collections are located on the 3rd floor of Dinwiddie Hall.
