Alli Hoag

Alli Hoag’s practice investigates the unique qualities of glass to connect with the unknowable world outside ourselves, and the simultaneous lightness and heaviness that is created when the imagined is labored into the physical realm. Through phenomenological and somaesthetic lenses, the participatory role of the viewer becomes the connective tissue throughout her practice—spanning sculpture, design and performance.

She exhibits and attends residencies internationally and nationally, with recent exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Bulgaria and Ireland, and residencies as a David Whitehouse artist researcher at Corning Museum of Glass and a Toledo Museum of Art GAPP Resident artist. She promotes opportunities for artists and creatives through participation on the steering committee of the NSG Arts/Industry Intersection project from its inception in 2018 through 2025. Alli completed her BFA degree in glass at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and graduated with an MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
