The Newcomb Art Department supports summer internships for art history graduate students at local arts and heritage organizations. In 2022, we supported interns at Historic New Orleans Collection, the Beauregard Keyes House, the New Orleans Museum of Art and with the Ida Kohlmeyer estate. These internships can be of variable duration and are typically dedicated to a specific research project, exhibition or educational resource. Interns usually are placed through Get to NOLA arts events and paid approximately $20-25/hr. After your internship is complete, we ask that you file a report with the Director of Graduate Studies and your primary advisor; you are also strongly encouraged to present on your internship work as part of the department’s Works in Progress series, currently organized by Professor Geddes.
